Blood, Sweat and No Fears

Saturday is almost over. I still have 10 fingers that mostly function. My hands are a little worse for wear from handling the pavers, plate compactor and shoveling all day. I am glad I got my ring tattooed or else it would be really rough now.

The patio on the back of the house is DONE! Yes, it did take a few weeks too many- but now it is done, finished and open for business! Tomorrow we finish the pavers around the fire pit.

Funny story. I was working outside finishing up the patio when I hear Eliana start to cry. We had put her to bed about 45 minutes ago and I thought she was sleeping. Strange, she was getting up on the stool in front of the window above where i was working. But we didn't let her out of her crib... SHE CAN NOW GET OUT OF HER CRIB!

Nicole and I were curious as to how she does this, so we put her back in there and stepped back. She gripped the top with her hands and started to shimmy up the vertical slats with her feet. She threw her leg over the rail and pivoted on her stomach until both legs were over the side. She lowered herself as far as her arms would stretch and then she dropped to the ground and wanted some raisins and her bottle.

Looks like we need to re-think how we can put her- and keep her- in bed.
